Voces de Braceros del Valle del Río Grande Photography Exhibit
- Tuesday, September 22, 2015 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
- Brazos Hall
Several university classes in a border institution collaborated between 2011 and 2012 with elders from both sides of the Texas México border to construct a new narrative about the Bracero program, the international labor agreement sponsored by the United States and México between 1942 and 1964. Using oral histories and the creation of personal narratives, undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty worked with living Braceros and other elders to engage Braceros and their families living on both sides of the border to capture their stories and to make these stories public. Special Guest: Tim Z. Hernandez.
