Japanese Cinema Club presents A Series of Shorts. The selected films represent a small sample of shorts associated with the Japanese new wave film era, including Shuji Terayama's experimental, avante-garde "Emperor Tomato Ketchup," "Laura," "The Labyrinth Tale," and "Les Chants de Moldoror." The screening will also include Susumu Hani's "Children Who Draw" and Yukio Mishima's "Patriotism: The Right of Love and Death." This screening is the sixth in a series of Japanese new wave films being shown in an attempt to connect the Texas State audience with the art, history, and development of modern Japanese society.
