School of Music presents Dan Torosian, Mouthpiece Specialist, discussing "Common Issues with Saxophone and Clarinet Mouthpieces"

Dan Torosian is a saxophonist, clarinetist, flutist, composer, and arranger in Austin. He also customizes/repairs/refurbishes saxophone and clarinet mouthpieces. He performs regularly with The Copa Kings and The Austin Symphony (for Pops and big-band shows), and freelance work. Additionally, he is a composer and arranger. Mr. Torosian teaches woodwinds, brass, and jazz improvisation at the Austin School of Music and St. Edward’s University. His book, “Saxophone 101”, is a collection of exercises and patterns used for learning to play jazz.

Free and open to the public.  Nearest parking before 5 pm is at the fee-based LBJ Student Center or the Edward Gary Street Garage.  Both are  fee-based.  (Fee-based parking is only available at the Pleasant Street Garage after 5pm, and it is payable at the kiosk on the first level). (Attention: Students enrolled in Department Recital Course: No attendance credit is given for clinics).
