From the home front to the front lines, journalists chronicle war and peace around the globe. Our panelists are among the reporters, editors and photographers who publish the first draft of history. A Common Experience / Mass Comm Week event.

  • Brien Aho, former military photographer and a six-time first-place winner at the Military Photographer of the Year competition.
  • Sig Christensen, award-winning senior reporter covering the military and veterans affairs beat for the San Antonio Express-News.
  • Melissa Field, copy desk chief for Stars & Stripes, the independent newspaper of the U.S. military, based in Washington, D.C. 
  • Mark Kettenhofen, retired Navy combat photographer who served 20 years and won Military Photographer of the Year.
