Alpha Chi Distinguished Lecture Series Presents:
Dr. Alberto Giordano's Geographies of the Holocaust

Dr. Alberto Giordano, professor and chair of the Department of Geography, uses mapping and geography to examine spaces and places of the Holocaust.  His research has led him to ask and answer questions such as:

  • How can geographers contribute to the study of the Holocaust?
  • How can the use of Geographic Information Science advance the understanding of the Holocaust as a spatial phenomenon?
  • Where and when were Jews arrested during the Holocaust in Italy ?
  • What were the spatialities of Ghettoization in Budapest?

Dr. Giordano will discuss these questions as he presents the second annual Alpha Chi Distinguished Professor Lecture.
