The Octet Project: Polytemporal Music of Robert L. Motl, M.M., TXST, 1984
8:00 p.m.

The Octet Project is Robert Motl's effort to write and perform polytemporal music for live acoustic players in ensemble. The result, Octet, is a recently completed series of 12 original compositions placing familiar Western musical sounds upon variously configured polytemporal foundations. The ensemble uses acoustic instruments in a customary stage setting, yet each performer is guided by a private and unique downbeat rate using technology created by the composer.  For more information about this work, visit https://www.polytemporal.info.

Open to the public.  Tickets may be purchased in advance at http://www.txstatepresents.com or at the door.  The ticket booth will open 30 minutes prior to the start of the program.  Fee-based parking is available at the Edward Gary Street Garage, located across the street from the Performing Arts Center.  (Attention students enrolled in the Department Recital course: This is a GOLD event).
